Long Lake Lodge
We might as well say this up front: Long Lake Lodge is not your typical Minnesota resort and Kent Hintermeister is not your typical resort owner. For starters, Kent began amassing the land that would become Long Lake Lodge when he was in high school.
Trying to save land from development, Kent kept buying up land around the lake until he had enough for … what? A shooting preserve, of course. He repurposed a barn he owned, turning into an incredible lodge, and also has a lovely Northwoods cabin that sleeps groups of four to seven.
He raises 3,000 – 5,000 pheasants per year and hunters can hunt from September to April. He also has a nice setup for shooting sports.
Long Lake Lodge is not only for hunters though. The lodge, which is open year round, is so beautiful that last year they hosted over twenty weddings, numerous corporate events, and crafting retreats.
