A storied lodge on a legendary lake, Bowen Lodge dates back to 1930. The Bowens sold it in 1946 and it went through a series of owners before the Heig family bought it in 1982. Bob Sr. and his son Bill ran the resort as partners, and Bill met his wife when Gail Durrschmidt's '86 Subaru broke down close to the lodge. (Lucky for Bill!)

A beautiful lodge with an earthy feel and plenty of nostalgic elements, Bowen Lodge is situated on a peninsula between Lake Winnibigoshish and Cutfoot Sioux Lake, and also features a small environmental lake on the property perfect for bass fishing or quiet canoeing. Lake Winnibigoshish is a 55,000 acre lake, and home to incredible trophy walleye fishing. It also produced the current state record musky.
