Zippel Bay
Zippel Bay Resort started out in 1951 as a fishing camp with three small cabins and a shower house for the campers. Since Nick Painovich took over in 1977, the resort has thrived. Nick and his wife Deanna are two of the hardest-working people in the world, and their dedication makes the resort what it is.
Zippel Bay offers twenty-one cabins plus a remote outpost cabin a few miles away in the woods. In the winter, the Zippel Bay Igloo is something to behold: part igloo, part icehouse, part sports bar, it's a gathering place where you can watch the game, toss back a cold one, and catch crappies through the ice all at the same time: amazing.
Zippel Bay is on Lake of the Woods, a staggering 950,400 acre lake containing over 14,000 islands. It is renowned as one of Minnesota's best fishing lakes.
